Slight whine

Okay, this morning got up and went to the park. Walked for 6 min. and then did run 2 walk 1 min. So-o hard. My legs felt like concrete, did not want to lift from the pavement, very slow movement. Lived for the walk minute. Only lasted one mile. Then switched to run 1 min., walk 2 min. and that was better. Why, when I could do 3:3 last week is this so hard? Whatever, I am sore, fatigued, and now that I think about it, I need to be drinking a lot more water. I came home and took a cold shower hoping that would help my very sore legs...maybe it did, but they are still a little sore. My right foot continues to have the pain underneath my 3 middle toes--what's up with that? I will give Wayne Giminez a call tomorrow and see if he can assist me with the foot pain. I probably need new shoes. I am a little disheartened today because my fatigue kicked in way too early in the park and I have had little energy the rest of the day. Maybe I need more carbs...that sounds like a good idea! Anywho, I will overcome.

ITs weird. I felt just like that last week at my parents house. I actually considered walking the entire marathon because running is so hard for me. Then, this week is better. Steven showed me some things that have really been working. First, we warm up and walk for about 10 minutes and then stretch really good... much longer than I had been stretching. Then we run but we run SLOW... way slower than I had been running and in the middle of the workout we pick up our running speed. Try running 1 minute and walking 1.5 tomorrow. Thats what I did yesterday. I am getting the interval schedule from the cool runnings couch to 5 K program. The first 3 runs, you do the 1:15 and slowly add on. I don't know the rest, but I added them to my calendar. Here is the link:

Hope that helps! Don't get discouraged because we will have really really bad weeks, but they are usually followed by good ones!! I will see you Friday night at the Mac Grill!!

I think we all just have days like that. Last Thursday I went to the indoor track expecting to repeat my Tuesday performance of 3x3 minute intervals. Ha! I couldn't even do 90 second intervals. I just went home in disgust. I chalked it up to cycling 14 miles into work that morning, but I really don't think that was it.
Monday and Tuesday of this week, though, I had some good running sessions -- did 3 x 3 minute intervals last night at the Ridgeland track -- since it cooled off a little.
I'll be biking home today and into work tomorrow, so we'll see what tomorrow evening feels like. If it's the same as last Thursday I might have to rethink my cycling plan -- or at least get my running in first.
I'll be at dinner Friday night and will wog with the group on Saturday. Although for me to get to the start by 5:15 I'll have to get up at 3:45 a.m. (still have to get that mile in first near my house to "take care of business" lest I have to drop my pants along side the road and go.)

If it's less than 90degrees Thursday evening (6ish) I'll wog at the Ridgeland High track. If you want to join me, call me on my cell (601)750-0684 and make sure I'm going. I'll go to the Healthplex and run indoors if it's too hot.

See you soon!
