Yep, I did it. I trained EVERY DAY this week except for Friday, of course. I am sorry to admit that it is the first week I have followed our training schedule all the way. I also played 2 hours of tennis yesterday afternoon after walking the 5K in Clinton. Superwoman, here, ha-ha! It was so good to hear my tennis partner say "Cheryl, I can really tell a difference in your speed on the court because you are getting most of the balls you go after"! I do feel lighter on my feet (I'm not lighter because I have not lost weight) but I think the big difference is that my muscles are stronger, my stamina has improved and last but not least,...I AM A MARATHONER!!!!
Enjoyed our meeting in Clinton yesterday and getting to meet Christa, Kayra, and Ann. Kristy and I walked together and talked the whole way and did not find the 5K difficult. Today, my XT was doubles tennis for 2 hours. I see a lot of people running at Strawberry Patch park these days so I will be joining them in another 2 weeks. I hope I find running enjoyable and not too uncomfortable. I need to get a watch that will do the interval thing. When I was 40 I ran a 10K race in Huntsville, AL (monster hill there) and ran all the way, but now that I have a few more years on the ole bod, I will wog the marathon. My sweet little husband feels left out, I can tell. We both play tennis, we both ride bikes, and if he had not had back surgery this year, I am sure he would be a part of this too. He has temporarily given up tennis since his surgery also. I told him to live vicariously through my experience and read my blogs. Just ain't the same, I know.
I need to listen to Mark's presentation again. There was a lot of good inspirational info yesterday and I need a repeat listen. I was looking forward to that bread yesterday and Kristy, my walking partner/daughter-in-law, said, "let's skip the bread since we are going to lunch"...I meekly said, okay, that is a good idea. What? Did I let myself be talked out of ingesting that sumptuous, delicious white chocolate cherry bread!!! Where is my will power, my assertiveness, my leadership?! All in all, thank you Kristy.

Hi Cheryl,
It was so great to finally meet you and Kristy. You are so fun and nice! Thank you for the nice comment on my blog. My love life is a long story. I've been engaged twice and am sure I would be twice divorced had I gone through with it both times. I'm definitely interested in a significant other, I just don't ever meet any good prospects. The older I get the harder it is and the fewer people I meet. I have kissed a lot of frogs but I'm still waiting for my prince. Do you know any eligible bachelors? Also, do you and Kristy plan to stay in a quad in Chicago? Kayra and I are looking for roomies. I imagine that your son and husband will be going to cheer you both on. I hope you have a great week and I look forward to seeing you again on Saturday. Keep up the great work!!!!!
P.S. That damn bread was DAMN good! I wish I hadn't tasted it!
Did you do the GI 5k,too? I was there. It was fun. Sorry I missed you. We made it to the meeting to and it was a good one to make! Missed the bread, though. Sounds like it was quite good!
The bread was delicious! I couldn't help myself and had 2 slices. I love bread. It was great meeting you and Kristy. Did you say you are 60? No way, you do not look anywhere close to 60, you look great!
You are welcome. Yesterday, I did not have that willpower. Steven and I went shopping and I wanted Mexican food! Nothing else was going to do and there was no way I could be talked out of it! Oh well!
