Well, today I spent 3.5 hours at a heart clinic at St. D's getting a nuclear stress test done. I was a little anxious about the results because heart disease is the bad boy in my family. A recent heart screening showed a lipid profile out of whack and they put me on a low dose Crestor to lower the cholesterol. Since I am training for a marathon, and because of my "age", the cardiologist recommended that I have a nuclear stress test done. I am happy to report that the Dr. said I passed it with "flying colors"...he said it was almost perfect! He seemed surprised. I am sure my previous training for this marathon is the reason I did so well. That treadmill for 10 minutes was a piece of cake! Yes, they had it inclined to the max, but still, piece of cake. Exercise is SO GOOD for us. Thank you again Mark, Robin, and Matt, for taking the time to make such a difference in these strangers' lives.
Going upstairs to do the elliptical for XT. Hope everyone is having a good week!

That's awesome! congrats.
Good news for you!
Thanks for the comments on my blog and I am very happy with the idea that we can ride bikes together. We usually ride the trace and don't mind at all the idea of meeting up on HC somewhere. I think maybe we could get Queen Swayze to join us, too.
I'll be out this weekend and then two weeks later so it might be after the half marathon before we can arrange it.
I got some books on the Mediterranean diet and was able to lower my cholesterol considerably. Still take a low dose lipitor, but the change to Mediterranean diet improved the chol. even more. It fits right in with the Superfoods concept. It is also a great excuse to have 4-5 oz of red wine every evening.
Glad your nuclear scan was good. Should make you feel confident, for sure.

Congrats Cheryl! That is awesome! I can't wait to see you soon! I'm missing you!
Way to go! Glad you passed with flying colors.
I just went through that stress test as well as wearing a heart monitor for 24 hours (and going to the gym and running 4 miles while wearing it -- and then NOT being able to shower before going to work!) My tests were also ok. The doctor could not say enough about how the exercising has helped me.
cheryl,
Where are you and why haven't you blogged since May 30?
Is everything ok?
